Welcome to the Exuberant First Days of Spring!

With a slight tilt of the Earth on her axis, we have our Seasons ~ the Sun has crossed the Equator, while moving into Aries, and is traveling northward towards the Tropic of Cancer. There are many who believe that the true New Year begins with the Spring Equinox, which is today, March 20th.

This astrological New Year is off to a bang as Mars has recently moved into one of his favorite signs, Capricorn, where he is exalted, and of course the Sun has just moved into Aries, where he is exalted. Since Mars rules Aries, one might think that life will be just peachy…well, here’s the thing, Mars is in a tight square to the Sun, so the energy is high and tempers can fly!

Since both the Sun and Mars are very strong in their exalted signs, we can expect a willful display as these two are very used to getting their way. Knowing this will help all of us as we make our plans. Feel free to set out on your own course, but know that others are doing so as well. This means that we may just witness some disruptions between people working on their own thing, which may also seem at cross purposes with our own plans.

Patience, which is not an Arian strong suit, would be very helpful to employ. Fortunately, the Moon in Taurus is in an even tighter trine (harmonious aspect) to Saturn in Capricorn, so we just might have that blessing of patience and productivity after all!

Another thing to keep in mind is that our friendly messenger planet, Mercury, is about to station retrograde (March 22nd). It’s very important to make sure that we all double-check our plans and agreements to avoid any misunderstandings.
